Suicid...I hate the term 'suicide survivor'. Suicide is something you do to yourself (no matter how many reasons and clouded judgement you have as your defense) and to everyone around you. You survive thing that were done TO you. Not this.

I probably shouldn't be writing this and I'll add a disclaimer right here: my mom was suicidal for most of my youth and depressed for all of my life. I was the one that sat with her when she OD-ed. I was the one who worried about going home and finding her dead. I was the one who had to take care of her and who moulded myself so I was the perfect daughter because if I did something to upset her, she threatened to take her own life.

She never realized what she was doing to those around her. She had so many different and better options but all she wanted to do was wallow in self-pity.

I'm a suicide survivor, not her.

Of course this is about you, not me, and your story is different than mine. You genuinely want to get better, she never did. I'm so happy you realized your problems and are dealing with it.

Love you hun.Mayra Rientieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06481963487207416546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21711732.post-70782235689428411402009-09-10T13:18:37.102-04:002009-09-10T13:18:37.102-04:00Your story inspires...it has to be heard by others...Your story inspires...it has to be heard by others who are still hanging in a balance...at a loss for where to find help or even just knowing there are others they could talk to who understands cause they have been in that road before. Life will be meaningful again. You are a lovely soul NiteStar. Ups and downs will always be there to challenge you, but i will pray for your strength and courage to choose life always :-) Keep on the good fight! :-)

-MoonWillow516angel winkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11110586962146896812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21711732.post-89778079667687837722009-09-10T12:49:36.830-04:002009-09-10T12:49:36.830-04:00Excellent post.
