The reason the system is broken is because people stopped participating. When more than a full one-third of the nation doesn't for during presidential elections, and up to four-fifths (or eighty percent) of the eligible voting public doesn't vote during local elections, then the cause becomes quite apparent. We must do everything possible to reintegrate our sisters and brothers who have given up on the political process out of despair and frustration.
